2021 Sustainability Report: Championing Our Path

For nearly 100 years, since our founding in Chicago, the people of Grant Thornton have been dedicated servants to our clients and caring stewards in our communities. We have worked earnestly to provide confidence to the financial markets that underpin the broader economy, to help our clients succeed in their industries, and to ensure our business has a positive impact on the people and communities we serve.

Our purpose is to make business more personal and build trust into every result. This purpose not only guides our actions and decisions, but it also lights our path toward championing environmental, social and governance (ESG) leadership.

Throughout 2021, we increased management and oversight of our ESG risks and became more focused on priority areas identified by our stakeholders during our recent materiality assessment. Among others, these priorities include talent attraction, retention and development; employee health, safety and well-being; diversity, equity and inclusion; data privacy and cybersecurity; and ethics and integrity. In 2021, we also set ambitious goals to combat climate change and advance diversity.

Through our third annual sustainability report, we have furthered our commitment to transparency by providing information about our work in these and other important areas. We share our strategies, progress, data and evolving efforts aligned with established ESG frameworks.

We know the most meaningful successes are achieved when we work together — as one firm — for the benefit of all those we serve. Grant Thornton is ready to champion a path for ESG leadership and continue to exceed expectations — for our clients, our people and our business.
